Listed below are a few hotel / motel developments that Shear Engineering Corporation provided designs for: The Plaza at Pavilion Lane; Fort Collins, Colorado The Plaza at Pavilion Lane is a 3.19 acre site, located at 314 Pavilion Lane in Fort Collins, Colorado. The development consists of a 3-story, 84-room Candlewood Suites along with three (3) additional commercial building pads being marketed for either office or restaurant use. Shear Engineering Corporation provided both the civil sitework and building foundation and structural designs. Features of the civil sitework design included the design for the utility (water and sanitary sewer) service, drainage system, water quality devices, parking lot design, and grading design. This project site is located in the McClelland-Mail Creek drainage basin and has a stormwater storage requirement for development. It is located immediately east of the Larimer County Canal No. 2 irrigation ditch. This project also required ditch company coordination and approvals. Shear Engineering Corporation will also be involved in all construction aspects including sitework revisions, coordination, foundation and structural inspections, and documentation. Opening is scheduled for 2009.
Lot 4, Crossroads Business Park Seventh Subdivision; Loveland, Colorado The Crossroads Business Park Seventh Subdivision site is a 1.8 acre commercial development consisting of a 4-story, 121-room Value Place hotel located near the intersection of Clydesdale Parkway and Peralta Drive (3915 Peralta Drive) in Loveland, Colorado. Civil sitework design included the designing for the utility layout, drainage system, water quality devices, parking lot design, and grading design. Shear Engineering has also provided foundation and structural designs for the retaining walls located along Clydesdale Parkway on the east side of the project site. The Value Place hotel opened for business in November 2008.
Crossroads Business Park Subdivision; Loveland, Colorado The Crossroads Business Park Subdivision site is located east of Interstate 25 at Crossroads Boulevard in Loveland, Colorado. This site is approximately four acres with two hotels (the Holiday Inn Express and the Candlewood Suites). These hotels have a total of 145-rooms with 84,261 square feet of floor space. Shear Engineering Corporation provided both civil and structural engineering services. Civil engineering services provided included: city approved construction plans, preliminary planning items, and permitting through the release of the Commercial Site Certifications and Certificates of Occupancy. Shear Engineering Corporation also provided offsite improvements. These include arterial street and intersection design along with traffic signal design at the intersection adjacent to the Holiday Inn Express. Additional civil engineering services included: the utility system lay-out, stormwater drainage design, water quality devices, parking lot layout and the grading design for both hotel sites. Structural engineering design services were provided in the form of foundation and framing plans. Our firm also provided field engineering/construction services and all required observations related to both the civil and structural engineering design and certifications to ensure structural designs were followed. Both hotels are wood framed structures on concrete foundations. The Holiday Inn Express opened for business in October 2007. The Candlewood Suites opened in June 2008.
Lot 1, Robco Minor Subdivision; Greeley, Colorado Shear Engineering Corporation provided both the civil sitework and building foundation and structural designs for the 62-room Hampton Inn and Suites located at 2350 - 29th Street in Greeley, Colorado. The Hampton Inn and Suites site is 1.62 acres located on the south side of the Highway 34 Bypass. Civil sitework design included the design for the utility (water and sanitary sewer) service layout, drainage system (including storm sewer system for flat roof drainage), parking lot design, and grading design. Shear Engineering Corporation was also involved in all construction aspects including sitework revisions, coordination, documentation, and foundation and structural inspections. The Hampton Inn and Suites opened in March of 2007.
Super 8 Motel; Wheatland, Wyoming Shear Engineering Corporation provided both civil sitework, building foundation and structural designs, and construction observations for the 57-room Super 8 Motel located at 2401 16th Street in Wheatland, Wyoming. The Super 8 Motel site is a 1.87 acre site located near Exit 80 on I-25. Civil sitework design included the design for the utility (water and sanitary sewer) service layout, drainage system (including storm sewer system and stormwater detention), parking lot design, and grading design. Shear Engineering Corporation was also involved in all construction aspects of the project including sitework revision coordination and documentation and foundation and structural inspections. Construction was completed in 2004. The Super 8 Motel opened in 2004.
